Maintenance and care of die-casting molds

Publish Time: 2024-06-20
Precautions when using the die-casting mold on the machine:

1. Pay attention to the installation direction of the mold. When there is a side sliding structure in the mold, try to make its movement direction parallel to the horizontal direction or open downward. Do not place it in the upward opening direction to effectively protect the safety of the side slider and prevent the side core from being hit.

2. Before loading and unloading the mold, install the anti-opening locking block, use the main lifting ring, maintain balance, and prevent unnecessary injuries.

3. After pressing the mold, remove the anti-opening locking block before opening and closing the mold.

4. After the mold is installed on the die-casting machine, an empty cycle action test should be carried out to check whether the operating mechanism on the mold is flexible and whether the positioning device can work effectively.

5. Ejection distance adjustment Adjust the position of the ejection mechanism on the die-casting machine in the empty mold state so that the distance between the ejection plate of the mold and the limit block of the movable mold plate is about 5mm.

6. If the mold has a hydraulic system, after connecting the line, adjust the stroke size, and then select the sequential action to prevent interference between the side core pulling and the closing mold action.

Maintenance and care of die-casting molds during non-working periods

1. After the mold has been used for a period of time, before it is removed for storage, the important dimensions should be checked and the mold parts that need to be repaired or replaced should be noted.

2. After confirming that there is no damage, it should be fully cleaned, and the residual material in the cavity should be checked, whether the material channel is clean, and whether the parting surface, top block, and slider working surface are scratched.

3. The surface of the cavity should be carefully checked. If rust or water rust is found, it should be re-polished.

4. After the cavity is cleaned, anti-rust oil should be applied to prevent rust. Anti-corrosion materials are best applied to the surface at room temperature to prevent side effects caused by temperature changes.

5. The auxiliary supporting devices of the mold should be sorted out. If necessary, some devices can be removed, classified and neatly arranged, marked and placed with the mold to avoid damage or loss during loading and unloading of the mold.

6. Before the mold is placed in the storage location, the residual cooling water in the mold and the residual oil in the oil pipe should be cleaned, and then the movable mold and fixed mold should be fixed with a locking plate to prevent opening.

7. Degreasing of the cavity should be done before the mold is reused.

8. The mold should be stored in a flat, dry, clean place that is easy to lift and carry. The molds should be stored in different categories, and molds for the same product should be placed together.
