Maintenance and care of die-casting molds during non-working periods
Publish Time: 2024-10-14
A) After the mold has been used for a period of time, before it is removed for storage, the important dimensions should be checked and the mold parts that need to be repaired or replaced should be noted.
B) After confirming that there is no damage, it should be fully cleaned, and check whether there is any residual material in the cavity, whether the material channel is clean, and whether the parting surface, top block, and slider working surface are scratched.
C) The surface of the cavity should be carefully checked. If rust or water rust is found, it should be re-polished.
D) After the cavity is cleaned, anti-rust oil should be applied to prevent rust. Anti-corrosion materials are best applied to the surface at room temperature to prevent side effects caused by temperature changes.
E) The auxiliary supporting devices of the mold should be sorted out. If necessary, some devices can be removed, classified and arranged neatly, marked and placed with the mold to avoid damage or loss during loading and unloading of the mold.
F) Before placing the mold in the storage location, remove the residual cooling water in the mold and the residual oil in the oil pipe, and then use the locking plate to fix the movable mold and the fixed mold to prevent opening.
G) The cavity degreasing treatment should be performed before the mold is reused.
H) The mold should be stored in a flat, dry, clean place that is easy to lift and transport. Storage should be classified, and molds for the same product should be placed together.
